Unique product diversity of special steel in Europe

Providing competitive products while keeping production economical is the primary aim of the steel processing industry. How steel producers optimally achieve this aim is presented by the international SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group at Made in Steel in Milan, Italy. With more than 500 steel grades in dimensions ranging in size from 13 micrometers to 1,000 millimeters, the product diversity is unique in Europe. At stand B32 C31 in pavilion 12P SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Italy and Ugitech showcase the Group’s special products in the area of stainless, engineering and bright steel as well as tool steel. The focus will also be on technical support and other services which the Group provides worldwide.

SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH’s focal point at Made in Steel is their expertise as an international special steel producer. Their strength is, on the one hand, developing and producing high-quality special steel solutions for demanding applications. On the other hand, the company also offers processing services on steel products and technical support. With nine steelworks worldwide, service companies in 38 countries and expert knowledge of materials, the special steel group is a strong partner to companies in the automotive, construction and energy, aerospace, foods and packaging industries as well as in manufacturing and engineering. It is of crucial importance that offerings are always tailored to the requirements of local markets. In Italy, for example, SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH operates three service centers that cut, mill and grind the group's special steel to meet customer needs. Standard and special grades are also stocked for the Italian market and delivered just-in-time as needed. Available on stock in Milan are the famous UGIMA® stainless steel grades, which are characterized by high machinability. The UGIMA® products are the materials of choice for all the modern processing suppliers of the automotive industry, the electronic industry and the process industries. Another example is the UGIGRIP® duplex steel grades, ideal for building construction and civil engineering applications. In addition to Ugitech products, customers at SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Italy can also purchase all special steel grades produced by the further Group production companies Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, Finkl/Sorel, Steeltec, and Swiss Steel.
