The development of specific long steel products for explicit applications is the area of expertise of the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group: From 6 - 9 December 2016 the company is presenting innovations from the Group’s vast product and service portfolio at the Midest trade fair in Paris at stand 6-L092. Customers profit from competent consulting, individual solutions and short delivery times that give them a competitive edge.

At Midest, SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH France is spotlighting its development in large diameter stainless steel bars, with a special focus on duplex and martensitic grades. Products are now available from the Chambly operation, close to Paris. Customers receive perfectly cut and individually packaged steel products within 24 to 48 hours.

The company also presents the entire product and service range of the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group. In the segment of stainless steel, Ugitech features the newest developments of UGIMA® products. The UGIMA® properties are unmatched: the excellent machinability support low tool wear manufacturing or higher machining speeds. Stainless components are then made cost-efficient and produced with close dimensional tolerances.

Besides the automotive industry, target end-use sectors are the watch industry, medical technology, electrical machinery as well as the applications sensors and valves. Another focus of the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group is on high and ultra-high strength ETG® and HSX® steels from bright steel producer Steeltec. These steels exhibit both high strength and high toughness and are still easily machinable even in their as-delivered state. This lowers process costs and improves the quality of sophisticated components. For components relevant for safety and subjected to dynamic loads, the new Xtreme Performance Technology is the optimum solution. Steeltec produces micro-alloy materials that are tough and durable at sub-zero temperatures of even -101°C. The tensile strength of tempered steels can also be raised to 1800 MPa and combined with an elongation at break of 10 percent.

Deutsche Edelstahlwerke is presenting information about their new bright steel production. It consists of a new drawing line, two grinding machines and a crack testing system. They are used to manufacture high-performance valve steel for automotive industry and increase the level of flexibility and efficiency in production.

With four warehouse locations and six sales offices, SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH offers customers in France nationwide access to long steel products from the group companies Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, Finkl Steel, Steeltec, Swiss Steel and Ugitech. The portfolio includes tool steels, stainless, acid and heat-resistant steels, bright steel as well as high-grade engineering steels.
